If you have already undergone the Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band and experienced mild to moderate weight loss, but have not realized your goals, you may be a candidate for the addition of a plication procedure. This plication will be performed on the outer curvature of your stomach below your band. The stomach wall is folded and sewn shut so that the opening of the stomach below the Lap Band is greatly reduced. This will allow weight loss to start again and restriction to be restored. In addition, it may also reduce the number of future adjustments of the Lap Band. It needs to be known that gastric plication is investigational and long term (>2 years) results are still evolving. If you want to learn more about this surgery please attend feel free to contact us.
